Professional Biography & Training

As a mother of two young children, I am passionate about supporting mothers, birthing people, parents and caregivers through the many stages of parenthood and child raising. I focused my graduate studies on perinatal and maternal mental health, and my master's thesis project explored the complex relationship between parenthood and identity.

I work with adults, adolescents and children of all ages, and also provide couples therapy and parenting support to families navigating challenging seasons of life. While my background and clinical experience have been rooted in providing maternal mental health and grief support, I also work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, work-related stress, navigating major life transitions or decisions, and individuals looking to improve their overall wellbeing and reconnect with an internal sense of purpose and meaning.

I currently practice at the Upshur Bren Psychology Group and provide virtual therapy across NY state and in-person therapy at our offices in Pelham, NY. You can learn more about our practice at our website here.

EDUCATION

I earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University and completed my graduate-level clinical training with the Upshur Bren Psychology Group. Prior to Northwestern, I studied Humanistic and Gestalt Therapy at the Gestalt Centre in London, England, and have additional experience in grief work as a former volunteer with The Dinner Party, a grief community. I received my undergraduate degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and spent more than 15 years as a corporate communications and public policy professional based in the US, Asia and Europe before transitioning to a second career in counseling.
